This is a pretty straightforward question and I'm willing to bet most of you are familiar with both companies. So who makes the ultimate revamped 964?

Well I'm RUF biased. So RUF.

Yellowbird, by a country mile!

Ruf. Can't go wrong though. As long as it goes Ruf/Singer>>>>>RWB I agree

RWB

I have to lean toward RUF. The history gets me every time. Not that I would turn down a Singer...

...Such a hard decision D: I'll take all 3..a Ruf, Stinger, and RWB :)

I'm not a fan of RUF. Just not my thing.
I do like RWB, but their cars are just a little too crazy for me personally. I'm not enough of an extrovert to own one.
Singer is has to be. Everything is subtle, but to the discerning eye, makes a big statement.

Thank god, I'm not the only one.

Now? Catherine Wheel all the way. No question. When new? That's tougher.
(don't get the reference, go ahead and google Catherine Wheel, I'll wait).

Wow. Double post on mobile with a single click/tap? Neat!

That depends on what you want.
If performance is the goal, RUF is probably the choice. Yellow Bird was originally a 930, or a turbocharged 911SC or something... but it is pretty easy to back-date a 964 Carrera 2 to that spec, to have the suspension and brake updates.
I would expect a RUF to be turbocharged, with an emphasis on FAST more than extremely high levels of finishing touches.
But Singer is a whole other ball-game... and the fit and finish are second to none, and is a feast for the senses, more than a blindingly fast car, and although it is fast with a fuel injected, atmospheric 3.6 liter Cosworth engine, it isn't a turbo, let alone a RUF turbo. Plus, it is back-dated to the long-nose classic look, rather than the 911SC/930 era with the impact bumpers. Post-74 is good... pre-74 is something a bit more special looking.
Frankly... I would want the Singer. I am not a good enough driver for a hugely powerful RUF, and the Singer's build quality is something to appreciate even when standing still.
Frankly... I appreciate RWB's build quality... but their aesthetic is too much. It is almost like a modern Gemballa... excessive. They are too expensive to risk on the track, but they look like they don't belong anywhere but a track.

RWB 964 Turbo, or Gemballa Avalanche 964 Turbo?
There have long been ostentatious Porsches...

For once, I got the reference ;)

Yeah, I don't even know how RWB became part of this discussion. I do like their aesthetic, but if anyone thinks that nothing more than some custom bodywork, wide wheels, and wings require anywhere near the level of design and execution that either Singer or RUF (or even Gemalla, TechArt, or 9ff) do, they're nuts.

I may have started that. Oops! I agree with your statement as well

If I were to be an annoying Porsche nerd I would point out that the Yellowbird was not based on the 964, but on the 3.2 Carrera. I also think the same goes for the Singer. I would pick the Ruf any day of the week, the Singer is of no interest to me.

...uhhhh....
well shit
actually, id have to go with the singer. almost the same concept, but done with more modern technology.
